Matcha! Matcha! Matcha!
/Matcha has become one of my favorite food items! It’s so versatile! You can have it in a hot or cold drink or even in a dessert. It certainly has become more popular now than when I remember it to be. It has become so popular, that now here in the U.S we have cute cafes dedicated to just serving Matcha flavored items. From your classic latte with steamed milk to infusing it with flavors in a parfait or pastry, there sure is something for everyone!

Nana’s Green Tea in Seattle, WA
This is the spot if you’re not just wanting a matcha drink, but a matcha experience! I will warn you, if you’re planning on coming here on the weekends, be prepared to wait in line. You can certainly order to go and not have to wait as long but being able to enjoy your treats in the cafe is bit more fun, especially if you’re with your friends. The atmosphere of this place gives you a modern feeling, with its industrial look and wooden archways. They have a pretty large menu too! You can either stick to something you’re familiar with like a matcha cream latte. Or you can be a little more adventurous try a hojicha based drink.
Not only do they have a large drink menu but they have lots of different desserts AND food items too. Every time I go, I always think i’m going to get one of there rice bowls but I always just get their sweets. One of these days I’ll have to try their Chicken Karage Salad because it looks amazing.
One of their most popular items that is definitely Instagram worthy is their parfaits. Filled with ice ream, and all types of delicious toppings and flavors, these parfaits are fun to share. It’ll give you all different types of flavor combos and textures that’ll make your taste buds go bananas! In a good way :)
Atulea in Capitol Hill, Seattle, WA
This little cafe shop off of 12th avenue in Capitol Hill is a little neighborhood gem! This a great spot to grab a cup of piping matcha and catch up on some work or just to grab and go for a walk around town. When you walk in, the colors of the vibrant wallpaper certainly grab your attention. Its fun, colorful and screams friendly atompshere! My friends and I decided to pop on in to check it out and I was definitely not disappointed. Their menu is short and sweet. They give you good set of options to choose from so you’re not overwhelmed. I ended up getting the iced dirty matcha latte. Anything I can add a shot of espresso too is great in my book. Their matcha was smooth and delicious. I don’t like my matcha too sweet but if you do, they offer different types of sweeteners you can add yourself at their sugar station.
Not only do they are different types of matcha drinks, but they also offer milk teas as well! And even if you’re not a big matcha fan, they offer traditional espresso drinks too!
