Local Sweets: Krystel's Confections
/I am always looking for the best sweets in Seattle. I tend to be more on the hunt when I'm wanting to wow my friends and family for a special event. I love to show case beautifully decorated cakes or delicious mini desserts. But the hardest part about finding a great dessert place is price. I feel like some places are way over priced or charge too much for very little and in the end I feel disappointed.

Back in 2015, I came across pictures on my Instagram of french macarons. They looked amazing. They had all different colors and designs. My mouth was watering. I knew I had to order them for something I was doing for my office during Valentine's Day. I assumed they were going to be pricey but I couldn't resist checking it out. I clicked on the account and realized it was a local baker, making these french desserts in her own kitchen and selling them via social media. Her name is Krystel Santos. I scanned her page and then I decided to email her. She sent me a price list and I was blown away. She was charging a very decent price for a dozen macarons and she had many flavors to choose from. I couldn't turn it down. It was too good to be true. I placed my order and I remember being one very happy customer.
I soon realized that this girl is going to be something someday. She eventually started selling her macarons at a local grocery store called Seafood City. Then Uwajimaya, CD Ice Cream, and now she's evolved into making cakes as well! Her desserts tastes great and they definitely look like she puts a lot of love and thought into them.
Krystel is kind and oh so sweet. She's professional yet very personal. Though she may have items that are set in stone, she does allow you to customize some things, like her cakes. She listens to what the customer wants. While keeping their vision in mind, she adds her little touches and sometimes the end product was more then you could ever ask for.

I don't just love the taste of her cakes, but I also love the fact that I'm supporting a small local business. Any chance that I get to be able to do that, makes me feel good inside. I've seen her grow through the past couple of years and her talent just continues to soar. I will continue to support her business and I am so excited to see where she goes from here.
